what is a retreat?
Venerable Geshe Kelsang says: "On retreat we stop all forms of business and extraneous activities so as to emphasize a particular spiritual practice." Retreats are an essential ingredient of a complete spiritual path, giving us time and space away from our usual activities to gain a deeper and more stable experience of our spiritual practice. Tara KMC is the perfect place to engage in a meditation retreat, with five qualified meditation rooms set within the calming, peaceful and pure environment of a Kadampa Dharma Centre and surrounded by 38 acres of beautiful parkland in the heart of the Derbyshire countryside.
We run regular retreats for beginners, as well as more advanced retreats for experienced meditators.
